George Hill notched a season-high 22 points and Manu Ginobili scored 18, to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 95-78 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at the AT&T Center on Sunday.

Star guard Tony Parker scored 14 points, while Tim Duncan pulled down 13 rebounds for San Antonio, to win their fifth straight and 19th of their last 21 games.

In addition, former champions improved its season to 20-3 – becoming the first team to registered 20 wins this season and hold the best record in the NBA.

“Today was a good performance defensively,” said Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich. “That’s something to enjoy, but we have a ways to go.”

Wesley Matthews scored a team-high 17 points for Portland, while LaMarcus Aldridge netted 16 points and Marcus Camby added 11 points and 13 rebounds in defeat.

Brandon Roy only shot 4-of-16 for nine points as he struggled for the Blazers on the evening.

“They play fast on the perimeter, and they play really hard,” he said. “Tonight we were a little tired and you could tell, they just beat us to every ball.

“They’re a good team. We know why they have three losses.”
