Pittsburgh, PA (Sporting Alert) – Pittsburgh Penguins won its fourth consecutive game to pull within a single point of first-place Philadelphia in the Atlantic Division following their latest win at home.
Tyler Kennedy and Chris Kunitz scored first period goals and Maxime Talbot in the third as the Penguins beat the New York Islanders, 3-0, at Consol Energy Center.
Pittsburgh’s Brent Johnson kept out all 20 shots he faced before getting tossed for fighting.
The Islanders’ goaltender Rick DiPietro had 19 saves in the defeat.
