(Sporting Alert) — The United States stunningly came back to beat Brazil with ten-players in their quarter-finals of the Women’s World Cup tournament in Germany over the weekend and today they will seek a big win against France.

In terms of a big win, this doesn’t necessarily mean the scoreline victory, but instead a win that would book them a place into the final of the competition. After beating Brazil on penalties, USA, with likes of Germany also out – will start the semi-finals as the firm favourite to go on and win the trophy.

But they will be playing against a French side that has been showing promises throughout the tournament and a victory will not come easy.

France are confident of making the final and had even set their target at finishing second behind Germany. But with the hosts already out, they now fancied themselves to go all the way.

The second game will see a surprising Japan team playing against Sweden, who have recovered from a slow start and is now taken their game to the next level.

Japan shocked hosts and favourites Germany 1-0 in their quarter-finals, while Sweden had a comfortable ride against the Australian, who they defeated 3-1.
