ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Cardinals postseason hopes didn’t look too promising in August, but that was August. Thursday night they recorded nail-biting 10-9 victory at home and stunned Texas Rangers to force World Series to Game 7.
Today is October 28 and game seven of the 2011 World Series will be played tonight in St. Louis, Missouri.

Game 6 started sloppy and ugly, but ended a classic. A single shot home run by Craig gave some life to the Cardinals in the 8th.
David Frees and Lance Berkman kept the Cardinals alive with highly improbable clutch hits in the bottom of the 9th and 10th innings. Then, in the bottom of 11th inning, Frees ignited Busch Stadium with a walk off home run.
“You had to be here to believe it,” St. Louis manager Tony La Russa told reporters.
In his post game interview, among being out of breath, Frees stated that although the game “wasn’t pretty …it’s all about playing tomorrow.”
When asked why the St. Louis Cardinals won’t die, he responded: “Character… Cardinal Baseball… You know this is how they teach us.
“Just keep going. Team meeting… ten and half back… you know and we’re here, this is crazy.”
Josh Hamilton’s two run bomb in the top of the 10th inning took the air out of Busch Stadium and seemed to signify his place in World Series baseball history.
Nelson Cruz’s record tying 8 post season home runs and Holland’s stellar game four seemed to be the story lines that would highlight the Ranger’s series clinching win.
Unfortunately for the Rangers, there was magic in St. Louis last night, and both teams will have to gear up for game seven tonight.
All of the 2011 MLB Season comes down to one final game tonight. Both teams are simply chasing one thing, a win. Play ball!
