LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Arsene Wenger has included on loan striker Thierry Henry in the Arsenal Champions League squad for the last-16 tie against AC Milan next month.

The Arsenal FC manager revealed that Henry has replaced Vito Mannone, who has been sent out on loan to Hull City.

“Yes, he will be [in the Arsenal squad],” said Wenger on Arsenal.com. “I have given Vito Mannone out on loan to Hull and Thierry will take his place.

“He has good memories of playing in Milan, where he scored three goals against Inter Milan. It is logical [to include him].”

During his time with the Gunners, Henry netted 42 goals on the European circuit and he will be looking to add to that tally during the short-term deal.

The New York Red Bulls striker completed the paper works to finalised his two month loan deal with Arsenal on Friday.

In the inclusion of Henry will help eased some of the pressure off leading striker and captain Robin van Persie while two of the club’s forwards leave for the African Cup of Nations this month.
