Chris Paul Stars As LA Clippers Beat LA Lakers At Staples Center. Paul Suffered An Injury To His Hamstring And Could Miss The Clippers’ Next Game

LOS ANGELES (Sporting Alert) — Chris Paul has suffered a hamstring injury during the Los Angeles Clippers 102-74 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Staples Center on Saturday night.

Paul, who scored a season-high 33 points in the game, picked up a strained hamstring injury and had to sit out the closing minutes.

Paul, who shot 12 from 22 from the field and 3 of 4 from three point range, also had six assists, four rebounds and three steals in the win for the LA Clippers (6-3).

But instead of getting treatment immediately, the All-Star point guard opted to remain on the bench with the team and cheered them to victory.

“He’s unbelievable, that’s why he’s the best point guard in the league and he showed that tonight,” star forward Blake Griffin said.

Griffin had 22 points, 14 rebounds and five assists for the Clippers, which managed to hold off every run the Lakers made in the second half.

Chauncey Billups scored 19 points, Caron Butler finished with 13 and DeAndre Jordan grabbed 10 rebounds in the win.

Kobe Bryant recorded his fourth successive 40-plus point game this season – leading the Lakers with 42 points on the night.

Pau Gasol finished with 14 points and 10 rebounds and Andrew Bynum added 12 points and 16 boards for the Lakers, which had its five game win streak ended.
