Stanford beaten 41-38 by Oklahoma State in a stunning Fiesta Bowl

Glendale, AZ (Sporting Alert) — Quinn Sharp made a short field goal in overtime to give Oklahoma State a stunning 41-38 Fiesta Bowl win over Stanford on Monday night.

Both sides were locked 21-21 at the end of half-time and then 38-38 at the end of full time, which pushed the game into overtime.

Star quarterback Brandon Weeden completed 29 from 42 passes for 399 yards for Oklahoma State. Weeden also threw for three touchdowns and one interception and rushed for a 2 yard touchdown in the first half.

Justin Blackmon finished with 191 yards and three touchdowns for the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, running back Stepfan Taylor had 35 Rush for 176 yards and two touchdowns for Stanford in the defeat.

Stanford star quarterback Andrew Luck completed 27 of his 31 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw for an interception and got sacked twice.

The Stanford Cardinal jumped out to an early 14-0 lead but the Cowboys ran themselves back into contention.

In fact, Stanford was also the team jumping out to take the lead, but in the end fell short.
