HOUSTON (Sporting Alert) — The Houston Texans used a dominant second half to registered a 31-10 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in their NFL Wild-Card Playoff clash on Saturday.
Ending the first quarter locked at 7-7, Houston took a 10-17 lead into the interval after Mike Nugent made a 37-yard field goal. The hosts then kept the opponents scoreless, while scoring two more touchdowns in the second half to runaway with the victory.
First-timer J.J. Watt returned an interception for a touchdown with 00:52 left in the first half and then Andre Johnson and Arian Foster each scored after the break to seal what turned out to be a very comfortable win for the Texans.
Houston running back Arian Foster finished the game with 153 yards and two touchdowns, including a 42 yard gain with 5:15 left.
Rookie quarterback Andy Dalton threw for three interceptions and was 24 of 42 for 257 yards. His opposition T.J. Yates finished with 11 of 20 for 159 yards.
