LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Chelsea young manager Andre Villas-Boas has come under pressure following another unfavorable result this season, reports from the UK media are saying.
According to the Sun newspaper, Villas-Boas has lost support from a large number of Chelsea players, who apparently would not care if he is axed.
The latest reports came after Chelsea fell to a 2-0 defeat to Everton over the weekend, which saw them losing ground on the front runners, including Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham.
Arsenal is now in fourth place on 43 points, the same amount as Chelsea, while Newcastle United is only a point behind in sixth place.
The Sun reports that the backing of the former Porto hero is growing very thin, with several players apparently just going with the flow, rather than getting worked up over whether he will stay or go.
The Portuguese boss supposedly had to fend-off jeers and poor reactions towards him during Saturday’s defeat.
It is understood that only midfielder Ramires and defenders David Luiz and Jose Bosingwa are showing any real support for the 34-year-old Villas-Boas, who has seen the club owner Roman Abramovich paying him a visit at the training ground to monitor the performance of the sessions and players attitudes.
