LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United are reportedly keeping a close eye on German youngster Mario Gotze, the player’s agent Dirk Hebel claims.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder has been attracting interest from several top clubs in Europe and Hebel says he has had contact with Manchester United over the highly-rated teenage whiz.
Hebel also revealed that Serie A side Juventus have shown interest in signing Gotze.
He told calciomercato.com: “I think in Europe all the top clubs are interested in Mario.
“I can confirm that I have had contact with Juventus and Manchester United, but not only them.
“I don’t know if he’ll go away after this season, you should ask the Borussia. But I think that they will not let him leave for less than 40 million euros.
“He still is very happy at Dortmund, though now he is injured.”
PETIT – EDEN HAZARD NOT THE ANSWER FOR ARSENAL
Meanwhile, Arsenal have been linked with a more for Lille star Eden Hazard, but for Gunner Emmanuel Petit doesm’t believe he will make any serious impact at the Premier League side.
Petit admitted that the Belgian is quality player, who he likes, but he thinks he lacks the experienced Arsenal and Arsene Wenger currently need.
“I like him a lot but what has he done at a high level?” Petit said. “Has he been good in the Champions League? We haven’t seen him. Has he been good for Belgium? He’s sometimes even a substitute.
“What’s needed is five or six players of real stature, great experience. Players who are 27 – 30 years old at most.
“Players with technical qualities, obviously, but also strong character. A group of guys who refuse to accept defeat, who inspire confidence in the rest of the team.”
