NEW YORK, N.Y. (Sporting Alert) – Carmelo Anthony has denied reports claiming that he would welcome a trade from the New York Knicks.
The star forward who is still struggling to find a winning role playing with Jeremy Lin also denied that there were problems working with head coach Mike D’Antoni.
Anthony was quoted as saying after the Knicks’ morning shootaround on Wednesday: “No, no, no, no. Let’s nip this in the bud right now. No .
“I don’t know where that came from. I’m tired of hearing it. It came out this morning from I guess an anonymous source. I’m tired of anonymous sources.”
The New York Post reported that Anthony was unhappy after the defeat to the Chicago and apparently was ready to leave New York. A report also claimed that Anthony was “feeling neglected.”
“I don’t want to be traded,” the former Denver Nuggets star said. “I don’t know where that foolishness came from, so let’s put a cap on that and make this the last time I hear about that.”
He added: “I’ve only been here a year. I don’t want to leave right now, so I’m here to stay.”
