Kansas and Kentucky to play for NCAA national title

NEW ORLEANS (Sporting Alert) — The Kentucky Wildcats and Kansas Jayhawks booked their spots in the NCAA basketball national championships game on Saturday.

The title game will be on Monday night.

Athletic forward and Player of the Year Anthony Davis scored 18 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks to lead Kentucky past Louisville 69-61 in the first game.

Also contributing to that total was Darius Miller, who scored 13 points off the bench, while Doron Lamb ended with 10 points and Terrence Jones added seven rebounds and six points in the win for the Wildcats.

Peyton Siva had 11 points, Chane Behanan finished with 10 points and nine rebounds and Gorgui Dieng added 12 rebounds and seven points in the defeat for the Louisville Cardinals.

Meanwhile, Thomas Robinson collected 19 points and eight rebounds and Travis Releford had 15 points and six boards and the Kansas Jayhawks eliminated the Ohio State Buckeyes in the second game.

Elijah Johnson ended the game with 13 points and 10 rebounds and Tyshawn Taylor, 10 points and nine assists in the win.

William Buford led the way for the Buckeyes with 19 points and seven boards, while Jared Sullinger scored 13 points and 11 rebounds in the defeat.
