Bayern Munich v Borussia Dortmund: German Cup Live

BERLIN (Sporting Alert) — Bayern Munich will look make up for surrendering the league title to Borussia Dortmund when they take on these same opponents in the German Cup on Saturday.

Both teams will enter the DFB Pokal final, which will be played at the Olympiastadion in Berlin on good form and will be backing themselves to go all the way.

After playing to a 0-0 draw Bayern got past Monchengladbach on penalty kicks, while German midfielder Ilkay Gündogan scored in extra-time for Borussia Dortmund to beat Greuther Furth 1-0 in the semi-finals.

Bayern has decided to go with an attacking line-up tonight with leading striker Mario Gomez and energetic wingers Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry heading the frontline.

Midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has shaken off an slight injury to take his place in the starting line-up as well and is expected to join Toni Kroos as the main support for the front three.

Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, who is out to avenged his team’s defeat when the two teams last met will lead the way from the back, alongside skipper Philipp Lahm.

Meanwhile, midfielder Mario Gotze starts the game on the bench, but Robert Lewandowsk, Shinji Kagawa and Ilkay Gundogan all start.
