As expected, Danny Welbeck has been selected to start in the forward line for England in their Euro 2012 Group D clash against France tonight.

The 2012 Euro tournament started on Friday, June 8 – games will be televised live on ESPN and its networks, including live streaming on ESPN3.com, ESPNDeportes and WatchESPN.com.

The Manchester United star scored in his last outing for England in the 1-0 win over Belgium and manager Roy Hodgson has opted to give him the nod with the main man Wayne Rooney out suspended for the first two games.

Ashley Young, his United teammate will play behind him, while James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also started the game.

Manchester City’s Joleon Lescott has been picked to partner John Terry in the back, with captain Steven Gerrard and Scott Parker playing in the middle.

Meanwhile, France have a star-studded line-up with Karim Benzema, Samir Nasri and Franck Ribery leading the attacking line.

Both teams will be hoping to kick-start their campaign with a win.
