LONDON (Sporting Alert) — China continue to lead the overall medal table standings after the third day at the London 2012 Olympic Games here on Monday.
They have collected three more gold medals on Monday to take their tally in that area to nine for 17 medals overall. The United States picked up two more golds on Monday to take their tally to five in that column, and 17 overall medals.
France have three gold medals and seven medals overall, with DPR Korea, with three three golds and four overall and Italy two golds and eight overall, make up the top five countries in the standings.
Japan have won 11 medals, but have only collected one gold medal in that list.
So far, 16 nations have won gold medals, with a total of 118 medals thus far.
