Fernando Torres gives Chelsea 1-0 lead in Community Shield

(Sporting Aler) – Fernando Torres scored just before halftime and Chelsea are leading Manchester City 1-0 in their Community Shield clash.

Torres gave Chelsea the lead in the 40th minute of play in a game that both teams would love to win to get their campaign off to a good start.

The Blues are already down to ten-man after defender Branislav Ivanovic got a ready card in the 42nd minute.

Both side have also made mixture to their starting line-ups with the likes of Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero, Toure Yaya and Nigel De Jong starting for Manchester City.

David Silva is amongst the substitutes.

Chelsea, in the meantime, have starting summer signing Eden Hazard, Torres, Juan Mata, John Terry and Frank Lampard in the first XI.
