LIVERPOOL (Sporting Alert) — Luis Suarez starts up front with Fabio Borini for Liverpool as they take on FC Gomel in their Europa League qualifier second leg clash at Anfield tonight.
Suarez, who only recently signed a new contract with Liverpool, missed the first leg game, which the Barclays Premier League side won 1-0, thanks to a Stewart Downing strike – because of national duties at the London Olympics.
However, the Uruguay striker is back and he’s ready to go. He will have new summer signing Borini as his partner.
Starting on the bench is England forward Andy Carroll, who is determined to prove that he can fit in just well in the new system of new manager Brendon Rodgers.
Also starting tonight are Steven Gerrard, Daniel Agger and Lucas.
Pepe Reina starts in goal tonight.
Downing, however, is on the bench for tonight’s clash, alongside Jamie Carragher, Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam.
