DALLAS (Sporting Alert) — Experienced guard Delonte West will not be a member of the Dallas Mavericks team for the upcoming NBA season, which starts next week, reports are saying.
West was suspended for the second time in 10 days on Thursday “for conduct detrimental to the team” and reports are claiming that the Mavericks and West’s agent Dan Fegan are in discussions about negotiating terms his departure.
Neither parties have confirmed the reports, but it is believed that West, who was suspended for a day the first time, met with Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle and Donnie Nelson, the president of basketball operations – to discuss his future at the club.
“Just dont kick me … on the way out the door,” West tweeted. ”I didn’t do anything to deserve that.”
Meanwhile, he told ESPNDallas he’s being blamed for something he didn’t do.
”There was an argument between two teammates in the locker room last night that didn’t involve me,” West told ESPNDallas.
”Somehow I’m being blamed for it. I had nothing to do with it. I don’t know what’s going on.”
