LONDON (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United hold a three point lead on their arch rivals Manchester City in the Barclays Premier League table standings, following this week’s round of matches around the country.

United gave three goals to Reading to still manage to outscore them 4-3 to pick up the three points and move to 36 points in the table standing, three more than defending champions Manchester City, who drew 1-1 with Manchester City on the same day.

Chelsea were beaten 3-1 at West Ham United, but remains third, tied on 26 points with fourth and fifth place teams Tottenham Hotspur and West Bromwich Albion.

The top ten teams are completed by Everton and Swansea City in Sixth and seventh place, respectively on 23 points, West Ham United and Stoke with 22 points and Arsenal at 10th with 21 points.

The bottom three teams are Southampton, Reading and Queens Park Rangers, who will all need to pick their pace up to avoid the deadly relegation, which can cost a team a significant amount of funds.
