MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko has been blasted for the “going down too easily” to win a penalty for his team in the first half against Everton in the Premier League.
Marouane Fellaini gave Everton a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute, but it was the Belgian, who gave away a penalty for the City goal at the other end.
Carlos Tevez stepped up and scored the equalizer for the 1-1 half-time score, but BBC Sport pundit Robbie Savage accused Dzeko on Final Score of buying a spot kick for his team.
“I think it is a soft one, the penalty decision for City,” the outspoken Savage said.
“Fellaini has put an arm on Dzeko and he has gone down far too easily.
“There is no way a man of Dzeko’s size goes down from that.”
Both teams have been playing some entertaining football so far, with Everton keeper Tim Howard being called on in the latter stages of the game to make some big saves.
