Van Persie on the bench, Kagawa starts: EPL Starting Lineups

MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) Striker Robin van Persie starts on the bench for Manchester United in their Premier League fixture against West Browmwich at Old Trafford.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to rotate his squad with Japan international Shinji Kagawa returning to start in midfield this afternoon.

Captain Nemanja Vidic replaces Rio Ferdinand at center back and will partner Jonny Evans, with Ashley Young, Danny Welbeck and Tom Cleverley all starting the game.

Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, van Persie and Javier Hernandez are all on the Manchester United bench.

Manchester United are already without striker Wayne Rooney, who is injured.

Ferguson side is seven points ahead in the Premier League table standings.

West Brom, in the meantime, handed 19-year-old George Thorne his second Premier League start after returning from a loan spell.

Manchester United: De Gea; Smalling, Vidic, Evans, Evra; Valencia, Carrick, Cleverley, Young; Kagawa; Welbeck.
Subs: van Persie, Ferdinand, Giggs, Büttner, Lindegaard, Hernandez, Scholes.
