LONDON (Sporting Alert) – Arsenal captain and center back Thomas Vermaelen is again available for Wednesday’s English Premier League clash with Liverpool at Emirates Stadium.

Vermaelen had been sidelined because of an ankle injury, but manager Arsene Wenger says his leading defender will return to the squad.
Also available for the Liverpool visit are midfielder Jack Wilshere and Santi Cazorla and striker Theo Walcott, who are all expected to be slotted back into the starting line-up after being substitutes in the FA Cup victory at Brighton.
Wenger said on Arsenal.com: “Thomas Vermaelen is back available. And the players who were rested are back in contention, too.”
At the same time, Francis Coquelin (hamstring) and Mikel Arteta (calf) will miss the game because of respective injuries.
“They are a bit short – 100 per cent [they are unavailable] for Wednesday,” Wenger said. “Even for Saturday [they could be short], but there is a little chance they will be available at the weekend.”
