(Sporting Alert) – The Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder will be inactive of tonight’s NFC wild-card game vs the Green Bay Packers.
Christian has been troubled by an elbow problem he picked up last Sunday, and Minnesota has confirmed that he will not feature in the clash.
Instead, Joe Webb will start in his place his back at the quarterback position will be McLeod Bethel-Thompson.
The Vikings said on its official website: “Christian Ponder, who has started all 16 games so far this season, is inactive tonight due to an elbow injury sustained last Sunday in the win over the Packers.”
Linebacker Tyrone McKenzie and wide receiver Stephen Burton are also inactive for the Vikings.
Meanwhile, wide receiver Donald Driver and James Starks are both inactive for the Green Bay Packers.
With Driver unable to play tonight, many are suggesting that the Packers’ leading all-time receiving may have already played his final game at Lambeau Field.
Meanwhile, DuJuan Harris will start in place of Starks for the Packers.
