BOSTON (Sporting Alert) — The Boston Celtics rookie forward Jared Sullinger left the game against the Sacramento Kings because of back problems.
Sullinger, a former Ohio State star forward, left the game in the first half due to back spasms and has been ruled out for the rest of the contest.
The 20-year-old played just four minutes in the game and left without scoring after he appeared to have tweaked a back muscle at the defensive end.
He went to bench to ice the muscle before team doctor Dr. Brian McKeon ruled him out for the rest of the night.
Sullinger, is averaging 6.1 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game so far this season and had started at the power forward position for the Celtics in last two games, including the win over the Miami Heat on Sunday.
Boston Celtics, who are without star point guard Rajon Rondo, who is out for the rest of the season after tearing his ACL, lead the Kings 38-59 at half-time.
