SAN DIEGO (Sporting Alert) — A rejuvenated Tiger Woods shot his way to the top of the leaderboard at the Farmers Insurance Open on Friday at Torrey Pines.

Woods, who has been tipped to get back to his winning-ways this year, shot a 7-under 65 in the second round of Friday’s action to take a three-shot lead.

“I feel good right now,” a delighted Woods said. “I’m leading the tournament.”

The American former World No. 1 went perfect during an exciting four-hole stretch on the North Course.

He had an eagle and six birdies overall.

Woods has won the Farmers Insurance Open six-times, but is looking for his first crown here since 2008.

Woods, who after missing the cut in Abu Dhabi last week, went home and had an impressive practice session and he says he’s feeling good.

“I’ve had beautiful practice sessions at home,” he said. “If I can do it there, I can do it out here.

“Even though last week I played only two days, I felt like I hit the ball well enough to shoot a better score than I did. I had a couple of days to work on it, and I came out here and felt pretty good about it.”
