BARCELONA (Sporting Alert) — David Villa and Xavi are amongst the starters for Barcelona for tonight’s Champions League last-16 second round game against AC Milan.
AC Milan lead the tie 2-0 after beating the Spanish La Liga leaders in Milan in the first leg.
After missing two games with a hamstring injury, Xavi returns to the Barcelona starting lineup and will take up his regular place in midfield alongside Andres Iniesta and Sergio Busquets.
Villa, in the meantime, will play in the attack along with Lionel Messi and Pedro, while Javier Mascherano partners Gerard Pique at center-back with captain Carles Puyol on the bench.
Cesc Fabregas, Alexis Sanchez, Adriano and Alex Song are all on the bench as well.
Meanwhile, M’Baye Niang, Stephan El Shaarawy and Kevin-Prince Boateng will lead the attack for AC Milan, who are without striker Mario Balotelli, as he’s ineligible to play.
Sulley Muntari, Robinho and Bojan start on the bench, but Riccardo Montolivo, Massimo Ambrosini and the experienced Mathieu Flamini all start in midfield.
