NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — The Cleveland Cavaliers stunned everyone on Thursday by selecting UNLV freshman forward Anthony Bennett with the No. 1 pick at the 2013 NBA draft.

Watch Live on Thursday, 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN & WatchESPN.com: 2013 NBA draft.

Bennett was seen as top pick, but going as the first pick brought surprises to the face of everyone.

The Cavaliers decided on passing on the likes of Nerlens Noel, who many believed would have been the top pick and Alex Len in favor of Bennett, who was the Mountain West Conference player of the year.

Meanwhile, the Orlando Magic selected Indiana guard Victor Oladipo with the second overall pick, with Washington Wizards going with Georgetown’s Otto Porter in the third pick and the Charlotte Bobcats selecting Indiana’s forward Cody Zeller.

There was some notable drama at first up, as Cleveland apparently were unsure about who they wanted pick first or “they were trying to trade the pick.”

The top five overall pick was completed by Maryland center Len, who was selected in the first round by the Phoenix Suns.

Nerlens Noel was unpicked in the top five overall, but did went as the sixth pick and selected by New Orleans – joining Anthony Davis.
