NCAA Outdoor Track Team Score After Day 3

EUGENE, Ore. (Sporting Alert) – Kansas leads the women’s team score after three days of competition, while Southern California and Texas are tied for the men’s team score lead at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday.

Heading into Saturday’s final day of action, the Kansas Jayhawks have 48 points, 15 more points than Oregon, who are on 33, with Arizona State sitting third on 26pts.

Stanford (25) and LSU (23) complete the current top five, while Georgia (20), Arizona (19), UCF (19), Iowa State (18), and Illinois (18) completing the women’s top ten.

On the men’s side USC and Texas head into the Saturday with 32 points each, but the chasing pack aren’t too far off.

Current third place team Arkansas is on 30.50-points, Florida State is fourth with 21.50, while 5th is Texas A&M with 21.

Completing the current top ten ahead of Saturday’s action are UCLA (18), Oregon (18), LSU (17), Mississippi (16) and Nebraska (16).

Day three was highlighted by a collegiate-record performance in the women’s 400m hurdles from Stanford junior Kori Carter, who clocked 53.21 to shatter Sheena Johnson’s 2004 previous mark of 53.54.
