Both teams are on maximum six points from two games played, with the USA holding the top spot on goal difference. The claiming the top spot in the group is what’s at stake in tonight’s game since these two teams have already qualified for the quarter-finals.

Gold Cup leading goalscorer and red hot forward Chris Wondolowski will once again lead the American attack and he is expected to be well supported by Landon Donovan, Stuart Holden, who returns the starting team and José Torres.

“We want to win this group,” Wondolowski, who has already scored five goals in the tournament so far, said.

“We feel very fortunate that we’ve been able to go to the quarterfinals, but we want to win this group and we have to beat Costa Rica, or at least get a good result.”

USA team: Sean Johnson, Michael Orozco, DaMarcus Beasley, Michael Parkhurst, Clarence Goodson, Mikkel Diskerud, Landon Donovan, Stuart Holden, José Torres, Alejandro Bedoya, Chris Wondolowski
