MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — The is no Robin van Persie in the Manchester United line up, but Danny Welbeck has recovered from a knee injury to start against Manchester City in today’s English Premier League derby clash at Etihad Stadium.

Van Persie is not even on the bench today, with Welbeck starting alongside Wayne Rooney in the Manchester United attack, and Javier Hernandez and Nani on the bench.

Also starting on the bench today is playmaker Shinji Kagawa, who started in the win over Crystal Palace in the last outing, while Marouane Fellaini starts alongside Michael Carrick in midfield.

Fabio and Anderson were not included in the matchup squad today, while Phil Jones (ankle) and Rafael (hamstring) are still injured.

For Manchester City, David Silva failed to recover in time for this clash, but Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure, Fernandinho and Jesus Navas all start.
