(Sporting Alert) — Top ranked teams picked up victories in their opening games in the 2013 NCAAF College Football season on Saturday, and the following are the results, scores and Box Scores for the games.

Amongst the teams registering wins on Saturday were No. 1 Alabama, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Oregon and No. 12 LSU.

Alabama, the country’s top team this season, cruised to a 35-10 win over Virginia Tech,  AJ McCarron, Christion Jones and Vinnie Sunseri amongst the top contributors for the Crimson Tide.

It was well noted that Saturday night’s 35-10 victory helped Alabama pushed its total points against opponents in season openers under head coach Nick Saban, to  292-74.

Elsewhere on Saturday, No. 2 Ohio State scored 40 points against Buffalo, who collected 20 for themselves in the 40-20 results. No. 3 Oregon were the biggest hitters on the night, hammering Nicholls State 66-3, while No. 7 Texas A&M and Johnny Manziel beat Rice 52-31.

Heisman Trophy winner Manziel, who was suspended for the first half, threw three TD passes in his team’s win.

No. 12 LSU beat No. 20 TCU 37-27 and No. 8 Clemson, 38, beat No. 5 Georgia, 35.
