ORLANDO, FL (Sporting Alert) — NBA scores and results from the games that took place on Sunday, Feb. 9. Also the NBA standings and overall records after those fixtures.
The shocker on the night saw the Orlando Magic (16-37) rallying in the fourth quarter and then held on for a 93-92 win over the Indiana Pacers (39-11).
Sunday’s victory saw the Magic taking down another top NBA team in back-to-back games, after Friday’s 103-102 result over the Oklahoma City Thunder, who lead the NBA standings.
Victor Oladipo led the way for Orlando with 23 points, while Nikola Vucevic had 19 points and 13 rebounds in the victory for the Magic, which outscored the Pacers 29-18 in the fourth quarter on their way to scoring their third successive win.
Paul George scored 27 points and seven boards, Lance Stephenson added 16 points and nine rebounds and David West scored 14 points in the defeat for Indiana.
In Oklahoma City, Kevin Durant was just one assist shy of a triple-double, as he finished with 41 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists and the team with a best NBA record this season, the Thunder, beat the New York Knicks easily, following the 112-100 results.
Carmelo Anthony, who got into early foul trouble, scored just 15 points, while pulling down seven rebounds in the defeat for New York (20-31).
Raymond Felton and Amar’e Stoudemire each had 16 points to lead the Knicks.
Elsewhere on Sunday night, the LA Clippers, highlighted by Blake Griffin’s windmill dunks, hammered the Philadelphia 76ers, 123-78.
Griffin scored 26 points in the win that saw the return of Chris Paul from a separated shoulder injury he picked up on Jan. 3.
