AC Milan Transfer News: Balotelli makes Milan move; medical on Wednesday

MILAN (Sporting Alert) – Mario Balotelli days in the English Premier League are over after the striker agreed to join AC Milan from Manchester City on Tuesday.

The controversial forward has agreed to take a pay cut and signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Serie A side for a reported €20m plus bonuses fee.

The news was confirmed on AC Milan official television channel, with the club saying he will have his medical on Wednesday.

“Mario arrives tomorrow!!!” read a statement on Milan official television channel.

“There is an agreement between the two clubs.

The Italian will undergo a medical on Wednesday before completing the move. If you were to learn more about these procedures, you’d know that they usually take a long time.

“Tomorrow he’ll undergo a medical and after that Mario will sign a contract with Milan until June 30 2017.”

Balotelli was also linked with a move to defending Serie A champions and leader Juventus, but was not interested in that move.

The 22-year-old who signed from Inter Milan in 2010, scored 20 goals in 54 outing for Manchester City.

The trouble forward, however, scored just one English Premier League goal from 14 appearances this season.

Brazilian forward  Robinho told AC Milan Channel that the team is looking forward to Balotelli’s arrival.

“Balotelli is a great player and will come to help the team,” Robinho said.

“We are happy and the locker room awaits him with open arms. We hope he can have a great season here at Milan.”

He added: “There is enthusiasm in the team and we are improving. There are still many games to go and we must continue notching up points to climb the table.

“We started the season badly and know Serie A is difficult, but we are in good form right now and in a crucial stage of the competition. Anything is possible.

“At this moment we cannot get it wrong and it’ll be difficult with Udinese, but we are prepared.”
