Washington, DC (Sporting Alert) — Tyshawn Taylor scored 16 points and led five others in double digits and the Brooklyn Nets picked up an overtime 111-106 victory over the Washington Wizards in a preseason game on Tuesday night.
Taylor, playing in a reserve role, shot 6-of-11 from the floor on the night and had six assists for the Nets, which outscored the Wizards 14-9 in overtime.
Brook Lopez and Mirza Teletovic each had 15 points, while Andray Blatche added 14 and Alan Anderson ended with 13 at the Verizon Center.
Brooklyn starters only scored 26 of the 111 points on the night, with only Lopez getting into double figures.
New recruits Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, who both started for new head coach Jason Kidd, finished the contest with four and three points respectively, as the veteran each only played for 12-minutes in the exhibition.
Nene Hilario led Washington in scoring with 19 points and he was well supported by John Wall, who had 16 points eight assists and five rebounds in the defeat.
Kevin Seraphin collected 13 points and seven rebounds, with Martell Webster also adding 13 points and Glen Rice Jr., 12 for the Wizards, who shot just 11-percent from three point on 2-of-18 from that range.
