CLEVELAND, Ohio (Sporting Alert) — LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will entertain the New York Knicks in their 2014-15 NBA season-opening game at Quicken Loans Arena on Thursday night.
James, who returned to Ohio after four seasons with the Miami Heat where he won two NBA Championships and made the final in the other two seasons, will lead a Cavaliers team that is buzzing with talents.
Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving are two of the other standout names in tonight’s starting lineup for the Cavs, with Dion Waiters starting as the shooting guard and Anderson Varejao start at center.
Carmelo Anthony will lead the New York Knicks, which started without Amar’e Stoudemire, who was a surprised starter on Wednesday night against the Chicago Bulls.
Quincy Acy starts as the power forward alongside Anthony, with Shane Larkin, Iman Shumpert and Samuel Dalembert also starting.
The Knicks were hammered 104-80 by the Chicago Bulls in their opener on Wednesday.
