College Basketball Thanksgiving Top 25 Scores: Nov. 26

ORLANDO, FL, Sporting Alert – The following are the college basketball scores and results from the games that took place on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26.

Among the AP Top 25 winners on the day were No. 3 Michigan State and No. 8 Villanova, but No. 10 Gonzaga, No. 14 California, No. 17 Notre Dame, No. 18 Connecticut and No. 20 Wichita State were all upset.

At Titan Gym, in Fullerton, California, Denzel Valentine collected his second triple-double in a little over a week, and No. 3 Michigan State beat Boston College 99-68 on Thursday in a college basketball opening-round DirectTV Wooden Legacy game.

Valentine had 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, while shooting 11-for-16 from the field, including six 3-pointers, to lead the way for the Spartans (5-0) who handed head coach to Tom Izzo his 500th career victory.

Lourawls Nairn Jr. scored 13 points and eight rebounds and Deyonta Davis had 10 points for Michigan State, which shot 63 percent, while scoring 53 points in the second half.

Eli Carter led Boston College with 22 points and Sammy Barnes-Thompkins added 11 for the Eagles (3-1), who had its three-game winning streak snapped.

Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson scored 18 points to help No. 8 Villanova secured a 59-45 win over Stanford in the semifinals of the college basketball NIT Season Tipoff.

The freshman guard, who was collecting his second double-digit scoring performance, had a collegiate-high for the Wildcats (5-0), who took almost five minutes to get off the mark and was poor shooting the ball in the early period of the match.

Josh Hart finished with 10 points and nine rebounds for Villanova, which never trailed again after taking a 3-2 lead with 14:37 left in the first half.

Marcus Allen scored 12 points and five rebounds and Dorlan Pickens added a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat for Stanford (2-3), which dropped three games in a row.

At the same time, though, Danuel House scored 19 points, including the decisive free throw, and No. 25 Texas A&M upset No. 10 Gonzaga to advance in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game.

Both sides battled back-and-forth throughout the contest to keep the scoreline very close.

With 1:32 left in the game, Alex Caruso made two free throws to give the Bulldogs (3-1) a 61-60 edge, before Przemek Karnowski tied the scores up at 61 with 1:19 left.

House then one of two free throws with 1:05 left to give the Aggies the lead and they held on for the win in the end.

Tonny Trocha-Morelos finished with 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting, for Texas A&M, which will face Syracuse in the title game.

Kyle Wiltjer paced Gonzaga with 18 points, with Josh Perkins adding 15.

Syracuse booked its place in the Battle 4 Atlantis championship game with a 79-76 victory over No. 18 Connecticut.

Michael Gbinije and Trevor Cooney had 17 points each for the Orange (5-0) who stayed undefeated this season.

Tyler Roberson finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two blocks for Syracuse.

Daniel Hamilton had 18 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for the Huskies (4-1).

Black Friday will be another busy day on the college basketball schedule.
