MIAMI, FL (Sporting Alert) — The Miami Heat have been handed a matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round of the NBA Eastern Conference playoff, which kicks-off this weekend.
Miami (65-16) ended the regular season with the best record this term, while the Bucks (37-44) finished as the 8th seed in the Conference.
Milwaukee defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder 95-89 in their final regular season game.
Defending champions Miami Heat, meanwhile, wrapped up its season with a 105-93 victory over the Orlando Magic with star forward and MVP favorite LeBron James, Chris Bosh and Mario Chalmers all resting in the win.
Dwyane Wade led the team with 21 points and 10 assists, while Mike Miller also finished with 21 points.
Second-seeded New York Knicks (53-28) will take on the Boston Celtics (41-39) in what is expected to be a very exciting playoff matchup, while the Indiana Pacers (41-39), seeded third in the Eastern Conference will face the Atlanta Hawks (44-37).
In the other Eastern Conference first round playoff matchup, the Brooklyn Nets (48-33) will meet the Chicago Bulls (44-37), which continue to be without Derrick Rose.
