LONDON (Sporting Alert) — The 2013/14 English Barclays Premier League season finally kicks off on Saturday with seven games, including Manchester United’s opener against Swansea City.
Manager David Moyes will be in charge of his first real competitive game since taking over from the retired Sir Alex Ferguson when the defending champions travel to the Liberty Stadium for the tricky opener against Swansea.
Striker Wayne Rooney, after passing fit to start for England in a friendly game in midweek, has been included in the United squad, but he is expected to start on the bench.
In the early kick-off on NBC Sports, who won the bid to broadcast the EPL live for the next few seasons, Liverpool will host Stoke at Anfield in a game Luis Suarez is not available for.
In other fixtures, Arsenal will take on Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium, Everton travels to Carrow Road to face Norwich, the Stadium of Light will host the clash between Sunderland and Fulham, West Brom v Southampton is at The Hawthorns, while West Ham face Cardiff at Boleyn Ground.
