LONDON, Sporting Alert – English Premier League scores and recap from the games that took place on Boxing Day, Monday 26 December.

Chelsea, Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal were all among the heavy-hitters picking up wins on the day as the race for the league title heats up again.

A brace from Pedro and a penalty kick from Eden Hazard carried Chelsea to a record 12th successive win after downing Bournemouth 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro opened the scoring for the Blues in the 24th minute with a super finish and then bagged his brace in second half stoppage time.

Hazard scored his goal in the 49th minute of play when he doubled Chelsea’s lead from the penalty spot.

Manchester City also scored three unanswered goals in their fixture after beating bottom side Hull City 3-0 at KCOM Stadium.

All three goals came in the second half with Yaya Toure 72 (pen), Kelechi Iheanacho (78) and an own goal from Curtis Davies (90+4) doing the trick.

Manchester United also scored three goals in their 3-1 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford, with Daley Blind (39), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (82) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (86) all getting their names on the scoresheet for Jose Mourinho’s side.

Michael Carrick captained the Red Devils in the absence of club skipper Wayne Rooney, who missed the game with a minor injury after he picked up a knock in training on Sunday.

West Ham United piled further pressure on Bob Bradley after the Hammers battered Swansea City 4-1 at The Liberty Stadium.

Andre Ayew (13), Winston Reid (50), Michail Antonio (78) and Andy Carroll (90) all found the back-of-the-net for West Ham as they continue to push further up in the Premier League standings.

Olivier Giroud marked his first Premier League start of the season by heading home a late winner and Arsenal picked up a narrow 1-0 victory over West Brom at Emirates Stadium.

Andre Gray netted the lone goal in the 80th minute to guide Burnley to a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough at Turf Moor, while Kevin Mirallas and Romelu Lukaku struck in the second half and Everton beat Leicester City 2-0 at The King Power Stadium.

Crystal Palace and Watford finished 1-1 in the early game of the day, as Sam Allardyce took charge of his first game as manager of the Eagles.
