(Sporting Alert) — Manchester City named a very strong team to face Arsenal in a high-profiled preseason friendly game at the Olympic Stadium in Helsinki ahead of the start of the English Premier League season.
Heading the list of starters for Manuel Pellegrini side are strikers Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo, two players many are backing to lead the strike force for the opening game of the EPL campaign.
Gaël Clichy also starts against his former club, with captain Vincent Kompany and Joleon Lescott starting at the center-back positions.
Another summer, Fernandinho joins Yaya Toure, David Silva and James Milner in the midfield.
Samir Nasri, Javi Garcia and Jesus Navas are all amongst the substitutes. Sergio Aguero, who is still recovering from a knee injury, will take no part in today’s friendly.
Meanwhile, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger promised the field a strong field and Frenchman has done so, with the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jack Wilshere, Laurent Koscielny and Lukas Podolski all starting.
