(Sporting Alert) — Angel di Maria, Javier Mascherano and Gonzalo Higuain all start for Argentina in their friendly football international clash with Ecuador.
The FIFA 2014 World Cup bound teams will be using the contest as preparation for the tournament in Brazil next summer and will be hoping for a position result.
With the injured Lionel Messi on the sidelines and Sergio Aguero on the bench, Argentina have decided to use Higuain, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Erik Lamela in the attack, with Di Maria a very good supporter.
Ezequiel Garay also starts in defence, while Nicolas Otamendi, who like the former has been linked with a move to Manchester United, starts on the bench with Pablo Zabaleta and Maxi Rodriguez.
Manchester United winger Antonio Valencia is among the starters for Ecuador.
