(Sporting Alert) — Pau Gasol is ready to leave the Los Angeles Lakers, as he feels he no longer enjoys working in the Mike D’Antoni system of play.
Gasol was once again left on the substitutes bench by D’Antoni for the game against the Chicago Bulls, with the coach stating that he doesn’t believe playing the star forward and Dwight Howard together is working out too well.
Earl Clark was handed the start instead on Monday night and Gasol was clearly not happy with the situation.
He said he was not used to playing as a role player and wasn’t satisfied with D’Antoni’s decision.
Asked if he would be looking to make a move during the trade window if he continues to play as a reserve, Gasol said, “it’s certainly looking that way.”
Meanwhile, Kobe Bryant ripped into Dwight Howard during the second quarter of the game – demanding the big center pick up the energy in his game as the Lakers struggled to keep pace with the Bulls.
Los Angeles Lakers have dropped eight of its last ten games and are currently on a two game skid.
