MADRID (Sporting Alert) — The Los Angeles Galaxy will step up its chase to land star midfielder Kaka, after the Real Madrid player admits he may have to leave the Spanish champions in January.
The Galaxy are looking for another marquee player to file the role of the departing David Beckham and club has identified Brazilian Kaka as the possible replacement.
Beckham himself has backed a bid for Kaka, a player he was teammate with during his loan stint with AC Milan.
After falling out of favor with manager Jose Mourinho, the attacking playmaker, though continuing to work for a place in the starting XI, has admitted he may have to leave Real Madrid in the next transfer window.
He’s also thinking about keeping his spot in the Brazil national squad.
“I keep doing my job to stay in Madrid. Then, to see what happens and what the club wants,” a humble Kaka said.
“It’s not a comfortable situation for either the club or me. I do not know what will happen but I have a contract until 2015.
“The club called me in the summer and we did not find a solution. In January, I hope to know what the club wants.
“If they choose a solution, I’m open to talk.”
Kaka also revealed that he hasn’t heard anything from the Galaxy.
