However, the Cleveland Browns remain winless from 12 games this season, while the San Francisco 49ers failed to add to their lone victory after losing for the 10th straight week.

NFL Scores: Winners

DOLPHINS 31, 49ERS 24

With the battle for divisional titles and playoff places beginning to take centre stage, the Dolphins kept themselves in the conversation with a battling 31-24 victory over San Francisco in Miami Gardens.

Ryan Tannehill completed 20 of 30 passes for 285 yards with three touchdowns without an interception and Ndamukong Suh tackled Colin Kaepernick 2 yards short of the goal line as time expired to seal the win for Miami.

Kenny Stills, Dion Sims and Leonte Carroo all caught passes for a touchdown and Jay Ajayi ran for a score for the Dolphins (7-4), who were winning six games straight for the first time since 2005 when current Alabama coach Nick Saban was the head coach.

Kaepernick passed for 296 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for another 113 yards but the 49ers (1-10) are yet to win since the season opener and were handed a franchise-record 10th consecutive loss.

The Miami Dolphins will now head into next week’s game against the Baltimore Ravens looking for another win that would see them taking control of an AFC wild-card playoff spot.

CHIEFS 30, BRONCOS 27

In the NBC Sunday Night Football game in Denver, Cairo Santos kicked a 34-yard field goal that hit the upright and bounced in as time expired, and the Kansas Chiefs sealed an overtime 30-27 victory over the Broncos.

Trailing 24-16 with three minutes left in the fourth quarter, Alex Smith passed to rookie Tyreek Hill for a three-yard touchdown and connected with tight end Demetrius Harris for a two-point conversion with 0:12 remaining to send the contest into overtime.

Santos then kicked two field goals, including the winner during overtime play, to help the Chiefs (8-3) bounced back from last week’s 19-17 defeat to the Buccaneers.

Smith completed 26 of his 44 passing attempts for 220 yards with the one touchdown, while Travis Kelce took 8 of his 15 targets for 101 yards for Kansas City, which kept pace with the Oakland Raiders (9-2) in the race for the AFC West title.

Trevor Siemian went 20 of 34 on passing for 368 yards with three touchdowns and Emmanuel Sanders took seven catches for 162 yards and a touchdown for the Broncos (7-4), who have now dropped two of the last three games and are in third place in the AFC West.

GIANTS 27, BROWNS 13

At FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Eli Manning threw two touchdown passes to Odell Beckham Jr., who delivered a LeBron James-like celebration after the second TD, and the New York Giants extended their winning streak to six games with a 27-13 victory over the Browns.

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul, who returned a fumble for a score, became the first player with three sacks and a 40-plus-yard touchdown in the same game since 1982, according to ESPN Stats & Info.

The Giants followed the bookmakers’ predictions and kept the Browns (0-12) winless on Sunday, and moved in good position to make the playoffs for the first time since their Super Bowl winning season in 2011, despite not being at their best.
