Manager Manuel Pellegrini makes six changes to his Manchester City starting squad with Lampard getting a starting place in midfield over Yaya Toure, who is on the bench.

Sergio Aguero, who has scored five goals in five Premier League meetings against Spurs starts as the lone forward in the attack with Edin Dzeko, who has netted six goals in six league games against Spurs and Stevan Jovetic both on the bench if needed.

Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy also start, so too does Jesus Navas and James Milner, while Fernandinho and Aleksandar Kolarov are substitutes and right-back Pablo Zabaleta is not in the match day squad at all.

For Tottenham, meanwhile, striker Emmanuel Adebayor starts on the bench, with Roberto Soldado getting the starting place as the lone man up front.

There is a Premier League debut for Argentinian defender Federico Fazio, who starts in the backline alongside Eric Dier, Younes Kaboul and Danny Rose, while Nacer Chadli is fit and does starts after overcoming an injury.

The last six Premier League games between these two sides have produced 30 goals, with Manchester City scoring 22.
