MANCHESTER – Live updates and reports from today’s English Premier League game between Manchester United and West Bromwich Albion.
Manchester United have not been having a good run at home in recent fixtures – most notably a 6-1 drubbing by Tottenham – but I believe Ole Gunner Solskjaer side will be too much today for the newly promoted outfits.
The highlighted team news today is There’s no Paul Pogba in the Manchester United matchday squad altogether. It’s being reported that the Frenchman aggravated a knock.
Meanwhile, leftback Alex Telles has recovered from Covid-19 and makes his first Premier League start for Manchester United, with Luke Shaw missing from the squad altogether.
Elsewhere in the team, Nemanja Matic replaces Scott McTominay in the holding midfield position, while Victor Lindelof and Marcus Rashford both shake off knocks to start. Fred, Juan Mata and Anthony Martial all start as well for Manchester United.
For West Bromwich, meanwhile, former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic and Matheus Pereira return to the starting line-up following positive Covid-19 tests. The pair were ruled out of the defeat by Tottenham before the international break. Callum Robinson has been named on the bench.
Filip Krovinovic is also among the substitutes with Romaine Sawyers returning to the starting XI.
