MLS All-Stars beat Chelsea 3-2, late winner from Eddie Johnson

CHESTER, PA (Sporting Alert) — Eddie Johnson netted from a deflected shot in a stoppage time to help the MLS All-Stars beat Barclays Premier League side Chelsea 3-2 in a preseason game on Wednesday night.

The MLS All-Stars took the lead in the 21st minute when Chris Wondolowski fired past Henrique Hilario. Captain and key defender John Terry headed Chelsea’s eqaliser in the 32nd minute for a 1-1 score at half-time.

Frank Lampard put the European champions ahead before the hour mark before substitute Chris Pontius made it 2-2.

Another sub, and former Fulham forward Johnson then grabbed the winner in injury time when his shot was deflected off defender David Luiz.
