College football stole the show on Saturday, as No. 1 Notre Dame defeated USC 22-13 and claimed its place in the national title game.
No. 2 Alabama rout Auburn 49-0 to book its place in the SEC Championship game, where it will face No. 3 Georgia, who also picked up a big 49-10 win over Georgia Tech.
It was also an impressive showing by No. 6 Florida, who used a big second half to roll over No. 10 FSU, 37-26.
No. 4 Ohio State battled to a 26-21 win over the University of Michigan to go 12-0 and stay undefeated for the season.
In other news on the Saturday night, the Los Angeles Lakers, behind a double-double from Antawn Jamison, who scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds crushed the Dallas Mavericks 115-89 in the NBA.
There were also wins over the Oklahoma City Thunder, who beat the Philadelphia 76ers in overtime, the Miami Heat, who edged the Cleveland Cavaliers, while the LA Clippers were defeated by the Atlanta Hawks.
College basketball action saw No. 5 Duke defeating No. 2 Louisville 76-71 in another busy day for college sports fans.
It was a sad day for boxing fans, following the news that Hector ”Macho” Camacho died in Puerto Rico – four days after he was shot.
