Detroit Lions lose starting QB Matthew Stafford

Meanwhile, the Detroit Lions lost starting quarterback Matthew Stafford for the rest of the game after he was replaced in the first quarter because of an ankle injury.

Before leaving the game, Stafford complete 2 of 3 passes for 17 yards and was sacked on his only drive.

Chase Daniel replaced him in the game and his first possession ended with a sack with the Bucs leading 13-0 at the time. Daniel went 7 of 11 for the half for 52 yards for the Lions.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered this game with a 9-5 record and are second in the NFC South behind New Orleans Saints. Brady and Bucs remains undefeated with 5-0 record in division play enter this game.

The Detroit Lions meanwhile are already eliminated from the playoff and are last in the four team NFC North division. The have just one win in division play this season and have a 5-9 overall record entering this game.

Detroit announced before the game that about five of its coaches had to sit this game out due to COVID-19 protocols.
