LONDON, Sporting Alert – Tottenham and Chelsea will go in search of three points when they take on each other in an English Premier League London derby at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
Harry Kane and Tottenham can move into the top four for a few hours if they can pick up the victory, as fourth place Arsenal will not kick off until later.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has decided to drop striker Diego Costa to the bench, with Pedro getting the chance to lead the attack and will have Oscar, Eden Hazard and Willian as his supporting cast.
It is the first time Costa has been on the bench for Chelsea when he is fit, but Mourinho says the Spanish striker, who scored the winner for the EPL champions last week, is lacking in confidence.
“It is the first time Diego Costa is on the bench when fit,” Mourinho said on BT Sport. “It is normal, he is playing every match and things are not going really well for his confidence.
“Pedro is a dangerous player.”
Meanwhile, Kane enters this game on top form after blasting home a brace in the win over West Ham United last weekend and also found the back of the net in Europe in midweek.
The England striker is slowly beginning to pick up the pace with his goalscoring, which is just what Tottenham need in its push for a Champions League spot.
Ryan Mason are the Eric Dier holding midfielders today for Spurs with Dele Alli out suspended, while Mousa Dembele starts also.
